Duration: 3 hours
Option 1: We climb up 1000 metres to amazing 3000 year old Olive trees with weird and wonderful shapes. Here is the best view over the Castle Fanetes and the islands of Ithaca and Lefkada. Halfway we take a short break before returning to the stables.
Option 2: This ride brings us to Castle Fanetes where much of Captain Corelli was filmed. The castle is 600 years old, there is also a small church in a beautiful pine forest. There will be a short break for exploring the ruins before starting the ride back to the stables.
Option 3: We pass through 4 old villages destroyed in the 1953 earthquake. The last village is Mousakata where near the end of the War all the inhabitants were massacred. Their descendants have erected a lovely marble memorial to the victims. There is also a wonderful view from here over the valley as far as the village of Pyrgi and Mount Ainos.
We offer riding helmets and chaps at no extra charge
